Well, you have your opinion, I respect it, especially for the design But I have to disagree about the acceleration of the car...The word slow cannot be employed for the veyron, this thing is absolutely impressive...
Cars in the higher price bracket are all about being showy, anybody who wants to spend a large amount of money on a car is going to get that stigma regardless. The Veyron is a piece of automotive history, it's the most powerful car we're likely to see. At least in the combustion era.
It's a show of engineering brilliance and that's what you buy it for.
If you want to show off, you get a Bently Continental, an Aston Martin DBS (Or V12 as you'd likely know it as) a Rolls Royce Phantom or a Mercedes Benz Maybach to name a few. You don't get a million dollar car with 1000 horse power.
People who think pricey cars are pompous are generally those who can't afford them, and are trying to convince themselves that they don't want one in an attempt to make them feel better in their Honda Civic or Suzuki Swift.
